Opportunity Information: Apply for SGA 09 01
The Urban and Non Urban Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) Grants, managed by the U.S. Department of Labor's Veterans Employment and Training Service, aim to support the reintegration of homeless veterans into the workforce. This grant competition is authorized under 38 U.S.C. Section 2021 and seeks to fund programs that offer job training, counseling, and placement services tailored for homeless veterans.
Organizations interested in applying must specify whether they are seeking funds for urban or non-urban areas. Urban areas must have a population of at least 569,463, while non-urban areas are those with smaller populations. Written documentation and maps are necessary to demonstrate this.
The program has two main objectives: assisting homeless veterans in finding meaningful employment and developing effective service delivery systems to address their challenges. Successful proposals will provide comprehensive services such as job placement, training, counseling, and supportive assistance, adapting to both universal and local issues affecting veterans.
For the 2009 program year, up to $12 million is available in funding, with grants capped at $300,000 for urban areas and $200,000 for non-urban areas. The grants will support varying numbers of projects based on application merit. The performance period for these grants runs from July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2010, followed by a nine-month follow-up period where grantees must report on participant outcomes at specified intervals.
Additionally, there may be options for two years of extra funding, depending on availability and the performance of grantees and their sub-awardees. This notice contains all relevant information and application forms for potential applicants.Apply for SGA 09 01
